After being well-received in 2006 with over 13 lakh votes cast, Sabsey Favourite Kaun 2008 promises new offerings this year.

The award has been divided into two phases to ensure large-scale participation by fans. In the first Phase, the nominations will be collected online. In the second Phase, the SFK Van will go out to 30 towns across the country, collecting votes from fans. Votes will also be collected at selected outlets of Big Bazaar, INOX Multiplexes and Q-Jam outlets in Cafй Coffee day. There will also be country-wide voting through SMS, Internet and IVR. Finally, the winners will be announced.

Amitabh’s Mother Teji Bachchan Passed Away

MUMBAI (Reuters) – Actor Amitabh Bachchan’s mother, Teji Bachchan, died in a Mumbai hospital on Friday after prolonged illness. She was 93.

“Teji Bachchan expired today afternoon. She was unwell for a long time, conditions got worse,” a senior official at Lilavati Hospital told Reuters.

Bachchan, wife of distinguished Hindi poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan, had been in hospital for about a year.
